Picture time at Bill's house

Wooo

Of more than 600 beagles that have visited Beagle rescue over the years, Wooo is the only one who ever told us her name.   This highly experienced beagle wandered into a snooty Madison County, OH burg and was removed to the dog pound like so much road kill.  Ms. Wooo is an upbeat, affectionate, well-behaved, low-maintenance lady and asks for little besides back scratches and food.  And of course, the opportunity to tell you her name is Woooooooooo.  Estimated birthday 1-1-01

Susie C. Smith

Received at Beagles rrrrrrr Us 8-27-05. This highly experienced beagle was found running at large in Grove City. She was overweight and had no collar, but she was already spayed and extremely housebroken. An exhaustive search for her home turned up nothing. Suzie loves to go for walks and car rides. She is very loving, very well-behaved, very well socialized, appropriately active, healthy and clearly an excellent house pet. Her weight problem went away when we started treating her for mild hypothyroidism. This medicine is inexpensive. If you are looking for a plug-and-play no-hassle pet, we have her right here. Estimated birthday 8-1-96.

Buck Cerda

Buck’s family wrote that he is housebroken, great with kids and very well mannered.   Nevertheless, they left him at the Defiance County dog pound where he was about to be destroyed.  At Beagle rescue, we find Buck to be all of the above plus he gets along well with the other dogs.  Estimated birthday 1-15-07.

Buzzard--Cure for Cold Feet

Buzzard was originally saved from a Southern Ohio dog pound. He was placed for 2 ½ years, but then recently returned. His family did not have sufficient time to spend with him and the last straw was a Buzz deposit on the new carpet. Except for this carpet thing, Buzz received high marks from his adoptive family including child and feline relations. In our paws, Buzz is good with the housebreaking and extremely affectionate. We believe he would make an excellent addition to a family with kids and a fenced yard. Buzz has one huge advantage—he sleeps under the covers and keeps one’s feet warm. When it is time to go to bed, he comes to you, wags his tail and howls, “bed time!”

Estimated birthday 7-4-04

Quincy Marz

Handsome Quincy Marz is a sweetheart. He is gentle and loves to play with kids and adults and have lots and lots of fun. Estimated birthday 9-1-07.  Quincy would love a home with little kids or other dogs to play with.

Barack Obeagle

Barack Obeagle and Hillary Hound were about to be euthanized in Marietta, Ohio so they came to Beagle rescue instead.  Both are smaller beagles that are gentle and a little shy.  They get along so well we decided to post them together.  Whether you elect to adopt both of them or just one, we are sure you will be pleased with your new family member.  Estimated birthdays 6-1-07.

Hillary Hound

Riff and Raff

Our best guess is that Riff is the mother of Raff. These two hang together and collaborate on many activities. They sleep together and groom each other. They unload the dryer together (caution: they don’t fold). They are both loving beagles that appear to have had a hard life until recently. Riff is currently undergoing heartworm treatment.
Estimated birthdays 12-1-96, 12-1-01.

Daisy

Get your Christmas Ham Today!

Daisy the Beagle X Christmas Ham mix was found running around in the woods in Montgomery County by a canine search and rescue team. This (little) lady is quiet, gentle, stays out of trouble and is NEVER EVER late for dinner!  Estimated birthday 1-18-01

Puppies:

We are beagle and beagle mix kids, girls and boys, about 12 weeks old.  We poop and pee and run about the house with glee.  After all that, we're ready to cuddle up and fall fast asleep on a human's knee!

 Nemo Harris

Nemo is a domestic violence survivor.  He was rescued from a bad home by an angel.  In spite of his history, Nemo is healthy, well behaved, housebroken, playful, friendly, optimistic and gets along well with all animals, vegetables and minerals.  Knows commands too.  Nemo is so well adapted, we regard him as the plug-and-play of the beagle world. Estimated birthday 2-13-95

Abby Muskingum

My name is Abby.  The nasty picture is of my old home in Muskingum County, the place where I spent the first three years of my life.  This nasty man kept me in a box all the time.  Now, I’m just finding out how nice some humans can be.  In the second picture, I am sitting in my foster Daddy’s lap practicing my cute look.  In the third picture, I'm kissing my foster Daddy's nose.  I think the thing I like best is sitting in a lap and getting petted. Estimated birthday 6-1-06

Elsie Landon:
Elsie came from a home where the humans were prosecuted for neglect.  It is apparent that in her many years, Elsie had numerous litters and little else.  Even so, she maintained her positive attitude and loving spirit.  We have found Elsie to make a well-behaved, gentle, easy house pet.  During walks, she stays right with us and keeps her eyes on us.  Elsie has had surgery to remove mammary nodules and nasty teeth.  Her only negative is an obsession with cats.  Not necessarily a desire to hurt them, but definitely get them slimy.

Not recommended for homes with cats who do not see themselves as gummy bears.  Estimated b-day 1-9-95

Bleach Bum

Bleach Bum began as a stray at Madison County.  He had a bum leg and he laid in some diluted bleach and got skin irritation, so we named him Bleach Bum.  He got his health back, found a home and spent several happy years with his family.  However, health and financial problems (the humans’) caused them to have to give him up.  The name he now recognizes is Grover.  He’s low maintenance and gets along well with all sorts of humans and dogs.  Grover has become a big, floppy, handsome hound who loves to run around in the yard and then curl up in a lap.  Estimated B-day 11-1-99.

Robert Redhound

This big, handsome, freckled, redheaded hound is a stray from northeast Ohio. Robert is a big boy, but he is friendly, gentle and loving.
Estimated birthday 6-17-03

Frank Sinatra

This blue-eyed cuddle devil came from the Knox County dog pound.  (4-1-2002)

Faith and Floyd:

Faith and Floyd were dropped off one night at the Henry County, Indiana animal shelter. Perhaps littermates, they had been long ago spayed and neutered. Likely having had their starts in a loving home, the years had not been kind—both were in generally poor condition and both had advanced heartworm disease. Now they end up, in the middle of the night, at the dog pound. Not even the courtesy of a note giving their history and names. The health problems are being overcome, but the two still seem downtrodden and depressed. We need a kind human to come along and help put the spark back into their lives.
Estimated birthdays 2-13-99

 Betty Clark

Received at Beagles rrrrrrr Us
2-12-05. Our friend Betty snatched this lady from death’s grip in the Clark County gas chamber. At first, she was hateful and nasty. She must have been in horrible pain because after surgery to correct bilateral inguinal hernias, she turned into a sweetie. Betty is active, cuddly and waggy. She is low-key about it—a very easy beagle to live with. We named her in honor of our friend who looked into her heart.

Jupiter Hall

Jupiter’s out-of-this-world good looks will make you the envy of your neighborhood.  This handsome, active young man enjoys running around a fenced yard, playing ball, playing with other dogs and little kids,

going for car rides and walks, sitting on the couch and of course being petted and eating treats.  Estimated B-day 1-2-04.

And oh yes he must sleep in bed with you!

Crudston Shelby

Crudston is a stray from the Shelby County area.  He’s drop-dead handsome and he knows it.  Crudston is extremely self-confident, sociable and well-behaved.  He doesn’t like being crated, but he does like being held by his human and playing with other dogs. Estimated birthday 2-1-04.

Violet

Hello!  Do you know why my name is Violet?  Because I’m a bloomin’ beagle--that’s why!  My former humans made me stay in a barn.  Now, my foster family makes me stay in their bed.  I go out to their barn every day and they make me come in.  Humans are confounding, but I like ‘em anyway!   I’m told that other than being a barn head, I’m pretty well behaved. Estimated birthday 6-4-05

Binky

Approximately six months old stray found at the local grocery store! Housebroken, doesn't bark, doesn't jump on you, doesn't shed, good in the car, crate trained, won't run away. Excellent with children and other animals.

C. Lacey Madison

Lacey is a mature fiery red-headed beagle from Madison County.  Allegedly a stray, this soft, soft-furred lady has class.  She walks great on a leash, knows how to sit daintily on stuffed chairs and hardly ever barks. Lacey is also very polite to cats and other dogs.  While Lacey would be very happy in a quiet home, don’t think she can’t still get out and boogie!  E-specially at dinner time.  Estimated B-day 9-1-99.

 Mad Max

Mad Max lived with the same family from the time he was a wee little puppy until almost 3 years old.  Max didn’t get enough exercise, and so he found ways to keep himself busy which got him into trouble.  Finally, the family asked their vet to put him down.  Fortunately for Max, his vet loved him more than his family so Max got to live.  Mr. Mad Max has been rather well-behaved with us.   His low-key, easy-going, almost reflective style is strangely addicting.   He’s cool with tooth brushing, ear cleaning and nail trimming, gets along well with other dogs and is really a model citizen in our house.  Max has a soft, soft, handsome coat and loves to lay on his back in one’s lap while getting a belly rub. The only bad thing we can say about Max is that he sometimes gets a little protective of a toy or treat, so he should be supervised when little kids are around.

Davis

Davis is a copper nose gentleman who came to us from Wood County, OH. He was obese and lame. We put him in our fat camp and after a few months he was thin and sexy. He’s lost his limp and now he’s looking for a home with a slow easy pace. Davis is around 8 years old and likes to d o some lounging. But he’s no couch potato - he enjoys going outside to check things out in between naps and back scratches from the humans. He is quiet, housebroken and very easy to live with. Davis also wants you to know he’s very proud of his tonsils.
