Hello,

My name is Mumbles Donnelly.  I was pulled from a dog pound in Cincinnati a few months ago.  Now I am staying at a beagle rescue, but as you can see I am not so much beagle.  I don’t really remember, but when I was 2 or 3 months old, I must have been hit by a car or stomped or something cuz I have some old injuries.  My left femur was broken and healed funny so my leg is a little shorter than the right leg.  My spine was also hurt—I have a lesion at T12-13.  My back is strong, but I walk a little like my back end is drunk.  I also have a little trouble managing pee and poop.  Not too much trouble though—if you take me out and make sure I take care of my business I do ok.

I know all this because at beagle rescue they took me to Ohio State University and I got an MRI.  Lord knows I didn’t want a CAT scan!!!  Anyway the people at OSU said my back was stable and they taught the human how to better manage my other problems.  They also found that I have a diaphragmatic hernia and beagle rescue is going to get this fixed too.

I am told that the reason the humans are going to all this trouble is because I am the sweetest, nicest doggie on the earth and after all I’ve been through, I deserve some TLC.  When I’m not posing for the camera, I like to run and play with other doggies.  Once I get up to speed you can’t even tell that I’m different.  I also love to eat fruits and vegetables and I made a pig of myself in the orchard and garden this fall.  I am quite the healthy eater!

I am also an expert cuddler, kisser and leaner, as you can see from my photos.  And I’m just a kid not even a year old yet.  My birthday might be around November 18, 2009, according to the vet.

So, can you help me find a forever home?
